When the mountain is open
The temple treks, such as Kedarnath, Madhmaheshwar and Tungnath, follow the temple calendar. The doors open in late April or May and close for winter around Diwali. Most trails rest in the heavy monsoon. The Valley of Flowers is the exception, at its best in July and August. Winter brings the snow treks, such as Kedarkantha and Chandrashila.
Before you come
Where does the trek start?
In Haridwar. Pankaj shares the meeting time and place once you book.
How fit do I need to be?
You should be comfortable walking uphill for several hours a day. If you are unsure, tell Pankaj a little about yourself and ask.
I have never meditated. Can I join a sadhana yatra?
Yes. Everything is taught from the beginning, at the pace of the group.
Are the dates fixed?
Kedarnath dates stay much the same every year. The other trails change each year, with the season and with what groups ask for. Pankaj confirms every date before you travel.
Can we ask for a trail that is not listed?
Yes. Message Pankaj with the place and roughly when you would like to go, and he will tell you whether it can be walked then.
What if the weather turns?
Safety comes first. Pankaj decides on the trail and tells the group the plan.
